It all started with books, drinks, food, and laughter...

Meeting after meeting, the ladies of one Edmonton bookclub were talking not about books, but how they couldn't sleep! As many of them were (and still are) in the thrust of menopause, night sweats were disrupting their sleep and making them a little bit grumpy. They needed something that would help, but couldn't find anything in Edmonton that would fit the bill. Listening to her friends was Sam and the wheels in her head were turning. Thinking about her love for pajamas (she puts them on every day after work) and her friends' need for sleepwear that would help with night sweats, she thought, "Hey, why don't I open a pajama store!"

Pairing up with her husband, the two opened Cloud Nine Pajamas in Edmonton, Alberta in 2005. The very successful business was sold to the Zechel family in 2009. Robyn is managing the store and the rest of the family helps when needed. Carrying everything from famous flannels, to Oprah's Favourite Pajamas, to "wicking" sleepwear, Cloud Nine promotes a lifestyle of comfort.
