The candle warmer for people with good taste in furniture. The Candle Warmers Etc. Arched Lamp in Black and Wood has a matte black stem, a patterned wood base, and a metallic shade that sits over your candle like a proper little lamp — the kind of piece that looks at home on a nightstand, a shelf, or a kitchen counter without demanding any explanation. The aesthetic is clean and minimal in a way that works with most interiors without competing with anything around it.
Same top-down halogen technology as the Mercury Glass warmer — melts candle from above for fast, even fragrance release within minutes rather than the slow build of a plate warmer. Flame-free, no soot, no wick maintenance. If you've been burning jar candles and haven't tried a top-down warmer, the fragrance performance difference is immediate and noticeable.
About Candle Warmers Etc.
Candle Warmers Etc. has been making top-down candle warmer lamps since 1999. The Arched Lamp is one of their most popular everyday designs — less statement piece than the Mercury Glass, more of a quietly excellent home accessory that earns its place without making a fuss about it.

Good to Know
How is this different from the Mercury Glass Candle Warmer?
Same top-down technology, different design language. The Mercury Glass is more glamorous — gold mercury glass shade, adjustable stem, dimmer switch, and timer shut-off. The Arched Lamp is cleaner and more minimal — matte black, wood base, fixed height. The Arched Lamp is $65 vs the Mercury Glass at $70, and doesn't include the dimmer or timer. If you want more control over light output and an automatic shut-off, the Mercury Glass. If you want a quieter, more architectural look that fits naturally into a modern or Scandi interior, the Arched Lamp.
Why does top-down warming release fragrance faster?
Fragrance oils in a candle sit at the wax surface — the same layer a flame would melt first. Top-down halogen warming hits that layer directly, releasing scent within minutes. Bottom-up plate warmers have to heat through the entire wax mass to reach the fragrance, which takes considerably longer and often produces a weaker scent throw. The candle also lasts longer with top-down warming, since the wax melts more evenly without the tunnelling that can happen with a burning wick.
What candles work with it?
Most standard jar candles up to 22oz and 6" tall — Heslip Home, Yankee Candle, P.F. Candle Co., and most popular jar candle brands all fit. Doesn't work with pillar candles, tins, or tealights — needs an open-top jar for the lamp to sit over.
Is the NP1 bulb easy to replace?
Yes — NP1 halogen bulbs are widely available online and at lighting retailers, and inexpensive to replace. The bulb sits at the top of the lamp shade and swaps out without any tools.
Good gift?
A strong one — the black-and-wood design is broadly appealing and looks considered rather than generic. Pair it with a Heslip Home candle from Cloud Nine for a ready-to-use gift combination that arrives with everything the recipient needs.
