Prairie Creek Candle is hand-poured in Saskatchewan from 100% soy wax with an FSC-certified wooden wick that crackles as it burns — the sound that makes a candle feel like an event rather than just a light source. Phthalate-free, paraben-free, clean-burning. 45 hours from an 8oz jar. The amber glass with black metal lid looks good enough to keep on a shelf long after the candle is done.

Candle Care
Before each use, trim or remove any excess char from the wooden wick, leaving approximately 1/8"–3/16". On the first burn, allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the jar — this prevents tunnelling and means you get the full 45 hours rather than a deep hole down the middle. Never burn for more than 4 hours at a time.

What does a wooden wick sound like?
A soft, steady crackling — like a very small fireplace. It's subtle enough to be background ambience rather than distraction, and it's the detail that makes Prairie Creek candles feel different from a standard cotton-wick soy candle. If you've never burned a wooden wick before, expect to enjoy it more than you thought you would.
Which scent should I choose?
Back Porch Bourbon and Coffee House for warm, complex, slightly masculine-leaning scents. Peaches & Honey and Toasted Marshmallow for sweet, fruity, dessert-leaning. Vanilla Chai sits in the middle — warm spice with sweetness — and is the most year-round versatile of the five. If you're buying as a gift and don't know the recipient's preference, Vanilla Chai or Toasted Marshmallow are the safest calls.
Is the jar reusable?
Yes — the amber glass jar with black metal lid is worth keeping. Clean it out with warm soapy water once the candle is done (or freeze it to pop out any remaining wax) and it works as a small storage jar, a plant pot, or a drinking glass if you're that kind of person.
Good gift?
At $40 with a crackling wooden wick and a Canadian provenance, this is one of the more considered candle gifts in that price range.
