The raw edge hem is intentional. The Cloud Soft Lounge Set is a raglan-sleeve top and straight-leg pant in Miranda Nic's bamboo-blend Cloud Soft fabric — a 28% bamboo / 65% acrylic / 7% spandex knit that's softer and more fluid than it sounds on paper. The unfinished raw edge at the hem gives the top a relaxed, editorial quality that looks deliberate rather than casual, and the deep saturated teal is the colour that photographs beautifully and earns its place in a wardrobe rather than just a drawer. The pant has a metal-tipped drawstring, a clean elastic waistband, and a side pocket. Boxy through the body, straight through the leg, easy in every situation from the couch to the coffee shop. What does "raw edge" mean?
The hem of the top is intentionally left unfinished — no folded or stitched edge, just the cut fabric. It's a deliberate design choice that gives the top a softer, more relaxed silhouette than a traditionally hemmed garment. It won't fray with normal washing and wear; the knit construction keeps the edge stable.
What does the Cloud Soft fabric feel like?
Soft, fluid, and slightly substantial — the acrylic content gives it body and warmth without adding weight, and the bamboo rayon adds a smooth, breathable quality. It drapes rather than clings, and holds its shape well after washing. Different from the velour range — quieter and more matte in finish.
Why lay flat to dry?
The bamboo rayon and acrylic blend holds its shape and softness best with flat drying — tumble drying can cause the fabric to pill and lose its drape over time. Cold or gentle machine washing is fine; it's the heat of the dryer that's the issue. Worth the extra step at this price point.
