Meet Naomi! You might know her as @yegconnector — a local Edmonton content creator who’s been shining a light on our city for over 20 years. Originally from Québec City (yes, that little hint of a français accent is totally real!), Naomi now calls Edmonton home and has built a beautiful platform dedicated to celebrating community, connection, and local love.
She started YEGConnector because she believes deeply in this city — it's people, it's small businesses, and the stories that make it special. What began as a simple way to share local events has grown into a space that highlights the best of YEG’s makers, shops, and creative hearts.
Giving is very important to her. “Every year, I make it a priority to volunteer or donate to local social agencies,” Naomi says. “There are so many people in need across our city, and I’m constantly inspired by the organizations working tirelessly to help. Giving back is deeply personal to me,” she continues. “When I first moved to Edmonton, I received help and kindness from others — support that shaped my journey here. Volunteering now feels like my way to pay it forward, to honour that kindness, and to help lift others who might need a hand. The holidays remind me how powerful compassion can be — how one small act can ripple out and change a day, a season, even a life.”
At home, Naomi shares her space with two rescue cats from Zoe’s Animal Rescue — both fully committed to the “live rent-free” lifestyle. Between her full-time job and her passion for connecting the community, she still finds time to support local events, volunteer, and celebrate all things cozy and kindhearted.
