Like every piece in the French Toast Handmade collection, the Essential Sling begins as raw cotton in Jaipur, India — printed by hand with carved wooden blocks dipped in vibrant dyes, one impression at a time. The fabric is then hand-filled and hand-quilted before being constructed into the finished bag. The result is something that has texture, depth, and personality that flat-printed or machine-made bags simply cannot replicate.

How do I wash it? Remove the strap first — it detaches easily and can be washed separately or set aside. Machine wash the bag on cold, gentle cycle, and air dry completely. No dryer, no hot water, no iron on high heat. The hand-dyed cotton holds its colour beautifully when treated with a little care.
Will it actually fit my phone? The inner pocket is designed to fit a standard smartphone — including most current iPhone and Android models. If you have a particularly large phone or use a bulky case, it's worth measuring against the 12.2" bag length to confirm. The main compartment also fits your phone if needed, alongside cards and other essentials.
My bag looks slightly different from the photos — is that normal? Completely. Block printing by hand means pattern placement, colour depth, and print details vary slightly from piece to piece.
